Andromachi Sdoukou is a Psychologist and Systemic Psychotherapist. She graduated from the Psychology Department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2018 and afterwards completed her first training in Postmodern Systemic Approaches in Psychotherapy (Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Collaborative Therapy) in 2020 in Bienestar Center, the Greek Center for Solution-Focused Therapy. In parallel, she got trained in Systemic and Family Therapy in the Mental Health Center of West Sector of Thessaloniki, where she participated in personal and family sessions with children, teenagers and adults as a member of the therapeutic/reflecting team through the one-way mirror.
At the same time, she completed educational programmes in Support and Bereavement Counselling for children, adolescents and families that grieve the loss of a loved one, at “Merimna” Counselling and Bereavement Support Center in Thessaloniki, and in Cinematherapy, at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 2022 she completed with distinction her master’ s degree in Systemic Psychotherapy at the University of Central Lancashire (UcLan), in cooperation with ICPS college for Humanistic Sciences in Athens.
During her training, she has been employed both in the drug addictions field, being a part of the therapeutic teams in the Counseling and Information Center of “ARGO – Alternative Therapeutic Program for Dependent Individuals”, aiming at enhancing motives, physical detoxification counseling and preparation for the Non Residential Therapeutic Community, and in the broader support of vulnerable minorities, participating in the “German Doctors e.V./Social Services for Vulnerable Women” program of ARSIS Social Service, providing psychological support and work counseling to women based on the systemic approach.
In 2020 she co-created with other solution-focused therapists the Brief Psychological Support in days of Covid-19 Team, as an act of solidarity and voluntary support during the pandemic and its confining conditions. She has worked voluntarily at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival and in Cinematherapy Festival, the first cinematherapy festival worldwide. Since 2020, she has worked as a columnist, writing for cinema and psychology.
